WORKSHOP by Prof. Dr. Yusuf ALTINTAÞ
Application of Science-Based Digital Machining Technology in Industry
Content
The effects of work material properties and tool geometry on cutting forces, torque and
power will be explained. The measurement of machine tool’s structural dynamic stiffness,
natural frequencies and damping ratios will be illustrated. The identification of chatter free
axial and radial depths of cut and spindle speed, the chatter stability lobes, will be explained.
The application of engineering principles will be demonstrated using CUTPRO advanced
machining software. Once the NC part program is prepared, its virtual simulation and
optimization along the tool path will be presented using MACHPRO software. Both CUTPRO
and MACHPRO digital machining systems have developed at our laboratory and used
worldwide in industry. |
